Lançado este mês, o relatório do EurObserv’ER sobre o estado das energias renováveis na União Europeia (UE) relativo a 2018 dá conta de uma subida de 4,6 % no número de pessoas empregadas no sector. São mais 67 mil empregos em relação a 2017. O documento revela ainda um crescimento de 0,5 % do peso das renováveis no consumo final de energia.
Seguindo a metodologia desenvolvida pelo EurObserv’ER, em 2018 1,51 milhões de pessoas estavam empregadas directa ou indirectamente pelo sector das energias renováveis na UE. Relativamente a 2017, ano anterior ao objecto da análise, o sector terá criado mais 67 mil empregos no espaço comunitário, ainda a 28 (incluindo o Reino Unido, que entretanto saiu da UE). Este aumento representa uma subida de 4,6 % em relação aos níveis de emprego registados em 2017. O relatório, com mais de 200 páginas e disponibilizado gratuitamente on-line, mostra que, entre os 28 Estados-Membros de então, 20 cresceram ou mantiveram o número de empregos.
Dentro das energias renováveis, é o sector da biomassa aquele que mais emprega, com mais de 360 mil trabalhadores, seguindo-se a energia eólica com mais de 325 mil empregos e os biocombustíveis, com mais de 248 mil postos de trabalho.
Sector cresceu 0,5 % em 2018, a caminho da meta para 2020
Na sua 19ª edição, o relatório “O estado das energias renováveis na Europa” dá conta de um aumento de 0,5 % das energias renováveis no consumo final de energia da União Europeia a 28. Assim, em 2018, as renováveis representaram 18 % do total de energia consumida no espaço comunitário.
Esperando um “pico de crescimento para 2019 e 2020”, o relatório considera “expectável” o cumprimento da meta traçada pela Comissão Europeia para 2020, que prevê uma quota de, pelo menos, 20 % de energias renováveis no mix energético europeu.
O investimento no aumento da capacidade de produção de energia a partir de fontes renováveis alcançou, em 2018, os 31,5 mil milhões de euros, mais 4,5 mil milhões de euros relativamente a 2017, ano em que o investimento no sector se fixou nos 27 mil milhões de euros.
